Name Raypaw Age: 10-ish Moons Gender: Tom-cat/Male/He Breed: Turkish Van/American Short-hair Cross Clan: RockyClan Rank: Apprentice Family: Dam and Sire: Snowfall (Previous Healer/Mother) Leif (Rogue/Father) Mother is deceased Father took off Brothers: Saltpaw and Feildpaw Adoptive Family: Redfawn, Lionleap, Rowanpaw, Poppypaw, and Sadnpaw
Talents:
Reading Others | Raypaw has the uncanny ability to read a cat. He can feel emotions the way most others feel vibrations. Perhaps it is to compensate for his lack of voice, his inability to ask 'are you alright'. Or maybe it comes from his biological mother, a healer with a high spiritual connection? Whatever the case it is hard to conceal your true feelings or intent from this cat. He's a perfect kitty lie detector.
Tracking | Being silent has always been Raypaw's strong point. When he was born he was missing his left back leg and the ability to speak. Silence has always been his field, after her managed to learn how to walk with out crashing about like a beached fish. While Raypaw will never, physically, be a good hunter he compensate by finding prey and keeping his quarry in his sights. He's known for being able to find a cat anywhere, he's not generally included in hide-and-seek anymore.
Listening | If there is one skill he excels in, it is listening. However, if you want advice you better watch him closely, he wont repeat himself. He is willing to hear anyone out, keep any secret, and learn any tale. Raypaw enjoys trying to help others out, despite his lack of voice, and when you give him some of your time you will have an ally for life.

History:
Before the Storm
Raykit's very birth was against the warrior code. His mother, Snowfall, was a healer for RockyClan, against their leader Cragstar's wishes. She had never been what you would call dedicated but she did enough to keep her clanmates alive and semi-healthy. Just before her pregnancy, Snowfall had been leaving camp for prolonged periods of time. It was later revealed, when she was found dead after bearing her kits, that she had been meeting a tom. A clan cat or rogue no one is sure. But she had neglected her duties and her own health and had kits. The three little scraps each had some sort of disability. Raypaw's obvious affliction was his missing leg. It wasn't until he was older that the clan realized he also could not speak.
There was only one queen in the nursery at that time to take care of Raypaw and his brothers, Redfawn. Who had 3 beautiful kits of her own. Redfawn and her mate, Lionleap, agreed to care for the kits as their own and thus adopted them.
Hideout As he grew it was obvious Raypaw was a skittish little thing. He spent a good deal of time dashing from his mothers legs to his fathers and back again, never too far away from their side. He was petrified of then RockyClan leader Cragstar, and would nearly pass out if the massive tom looked his way. The little ginger-and-white kit spend most time out of the way in the nursery watching his siblings.
When he became an apprentice, however, Raypaw seemed to come out of his shell. Wanting to show his clan he was strong and could be a respectable tom despite his disadvantages. His father, Lionleap, was tasked with teaching Raypaw. Both took their duties seriously and Raypaw advanced in many fields, those his lack of a second back leg did hinder his progress. But he was always determined and never let it hold him back or be an excuse.
Trial by the Stars It was less than a moon ago that Raypaw left RockyClan. On a muggy morning Cragstar took a large patrol out to the farthest border. There they encountered a pack of mountain lions. Moons before a mother and her two cubs had denned on RockyClan territory and were subsequently run out. The mother died, as did the male, but the female was left to run free. And now she had returned with her new family.
The patrol worked fiercely to protect one another but it just wasn't enough. Cragstar gave all nine lives to defend who he could, several others meet a similar fate. Raypaw had been tossed about by a smaller MT Lion who seemed to have little want to fight and even less experience. A blond warrior, Dandeliontuft came to his aid. In a chaotic turn of events that the apprentice could not coherently understand, he was tossed off a ledge and down in to the waters below. His body ached but he was alive. The last thing Raypaw remembered was Dan's horror struck face looking down on him.
He a woke some time later, no longer where he had fallen. Something had moved him. The only thing he could smell was blood. His vision was horribly blurry. Moaning was all he could here. He cried out but, as usual, there was only silence. On three unstable paws he walked away from the line of deceased that were to be buried and stumbled out into the territory.
He was nosed awake the next morning. Dandeliontuft had found him. "I've been seeing ghost's all day, you're the first solid one though." It took a few sunrises but Raypaw get some simblence of strength. Over the next moon Raypaw followed the blond warrior around demanding, in his own way of stamps and smack the tom with his tail, to return home. The Star's seemed to urge them back to camp, sent them dreams to inspire them, sometime nightmare to remind them of what they still had. After what seemed like an eternity, Dandeliontuft agreed to go back home.
The two are now headed back to camp...
